The Issues
Janine Winn served as a Peace Corps volunteer in western Ukraine from 2017 to 2020. There, she made many friends who she likens to “family.” Amid the war between Ukraine and Putin’s Russian forces, Winn is worried for the well-being of her loved ones, as well as the “generous” Ukrainian people as a whole.
